The Port City of Jasmine

Welcomes You!

The History of Jasmine

Jasmine, a bustling, vibrant City is located on the shores of the mighty Vosk River. The history of this picturesque City is filled with both feast and famine.

Many years ago Jasmine was one of may prosperous and thriving Cities on the Vosk. Its people were happy and active. Many became rich from the fruit of their labors.

Rumors have it that during this period of time, a great flood rumbled down the Vosk, destroying many cities in it's path. It is, to this day, only a rumor.

There was, in fact, a contingent of voracious pirates prowling the waters of the Vosk, well organized and able to unite by use of a topaz stone. One day, some 100 years ago, these bands of pirates, seeing that Jasmine had become lax in their defenses, banded together, attacking the city. Outnumbered and surprised, the  Warriors and people of Jasmine fought bravely, only to be enslaved or killed. Very few managed to escape, fleeing into the surrounding foothills to the Ror or the forest to the Klim of the city. Some, in their desperate attempt to survive, chose to take to the waters of the Vosk, only to be attacked and killed by Vosk Turtles, Sharks and urts. The city, destroyed and looted, was nothing more than a pile of debris and smoldering ashes, a remnant of its past glory.

The remains of what once was a proud city lay barren for over 40 years.  The  once fabled vineyards were bleak, now covered in vegetation. The city proper was only a skeleton of empty partial walls and the once grand marketplace was little more than rubble.  The beautiful City of Jasmine was no more.

Slowly,  people began filtering in, few at first. Some were descendants of those that died long ago defending against the pirates. Others were seeking a new start, a place to build and call home. The city of Jasmine was reborn once more and Free People began the arduous task of rebuilding, stone by stone.

In 10,127 C.A., Jasmine aligned with eighteen other cities along the Vosk to form an alliance called the Vosk League. The people, recalling its past folly, were well aware that Vosk pirates still roamed the river. Raids became few, and to this day, Jasmine is a proud member of the League.

Remnants of sunken ships from those days of old can still be seen along the lovely beach after a storm. On occasion, chests containing gold and treasure, weapons, and all sorts of wares are brought up when dredging the harbor or in the surrounding hills, while exploring caves. The seemingly never ending reminders of what had occurred long ago.

It's history glorious and rich, the city of Jasmine today is a thriving, busy city. It's defenses are strong.  The marketplace is filled with shops.  The beautiful vineyards are again producing the famous Jasmine wines and the people are warm and friendly.

Jasmine welcomes one and all to visit the city. As it continues to grow and prosper, we pledge to honor our past and look forward to the future. Those who visit may find the City to be so charming they decide to make it their Home, that once here, you wish to stay.
